The projector DS+6K by Christie utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 6000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1300:1 at a resolution of SXGA+ 1400 x 1050. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 1000 hours before a replacement is necessary. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Projection Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 6000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 675 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 450 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie.
