As a projector, the Optoma TX783 combines DLP technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 5000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 1500:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 616 cm can be illuminated with 5000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 411 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. With a value of only 30 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2008 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma.
