The GT1080e is a 3D-Laser-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose specifications list 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 25000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 5000 hours before a replacement is necessary. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 6.8 years. The short-throw capabilities allow for large images at a short projection distance. According to specifications, a 2-meter wide image requires a distance of only 98 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 556 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 371 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. The projector was released in 2016 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
