Behind the name EzPro / EP1691 is a LED-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Optoma, whose main features include 2500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2500:1 and a WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 508 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 339 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.

I don‘t regret buying this device once so far.
Together with a slightly darkened room and an HDMI cable, blue ray movies are a pure pleasure.

Supplement to the Optoma EP1691 review by laptopmag
I bought the Optoma EP1691 about a month and a half ago despite the negative assessment of its noise development in the review and I have to say that I‘m delighted with it so far! The effect described by the testers, that the fan occasionally turns up, especially during entertainment applications, does not occur in my case. Either they had a faulty device or they may have tested it in summer temperatures, which I still have to do ;-)
The picture is crystal clear and the constant fan noise is not annoying for me and is also quite common with projectors of this size. I only operate the device in Eco mode (specified lamp life 3000 h, in normal operation 2000 h), whereby the fan noise is somewhat quieter than in normal operation. A Playstation 3 is connected, on which Yellow Dog Linux is also installed. I can work under Linux all day in a slightly darkened room. To make movies look good, you have to select a different contrast setting (Movie preset), which requires the room to be largely darkened, but gives you a brilliant cinema experience (screen width 3m, resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels). However, since I‘ve made the settings once and don‘t keep changing them, I don‘t really care.
