The Optoma ML500 is a 3D-DLP projector offering 500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800. As an LED projector, the spec sheet indicates a lifespan of 20000 hours, which translates to 13.7 years with 4 hours of daily use. A look at the light output reveals: The 500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 227 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 151 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Since entering the market in 2011, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.

I really like the ML500, I‘m always surprised at how small it is. In my opinion, it‘s quite sufficient for indoor use without any problems and is also sufficient for large walls when it‘s dark... We‘ve already watched a few games at the World Cup on a wall with a 5m diagonal - not really a problem even with the windows open at 6pm... And it‘s all super portable.

I have since returned the projector to the dealer and received the purchase price back from Kolanz. I would also like to mention that the projector delivers a very good picture if the optics are properly encapsulated (I assume that this is normally the case). The menu navigation is also very well solved, which is why I award the following rating for a fully functional device.

Bad service!!!
Device was not properly encapsulated. Already after
20 hours of use I had about 10 dust grains behind
the optics (easy to recognize when refocusing)
device went back to Optoma. This was probably only the
optics cleaned but not the problem of insufficient encapsulation of the optics solved. So after two hours of use I had a speck of dust behind the optics again. The device is going back to Optoma. Service looks different .-(((
