As a projector for the Homecinema sector, the Optoma HD70 is equipped with 1000 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution and a contrast of 3000:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. A look at the light output reveals: The 1000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 214 cm. With a value of only 30 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. However, it remains one of the frequently accessed models in our database.

Bought in 2007, lamp replaced within the lamp warranty, 2nd lamp has lasted until now (5100 hours). The reason for buying it back then was the moderate volume and 720p after all. Ive now bought a new lamp. One negative is certainly the low brightness by current standards.

Perfect HD beginner
The device is now almost 10 years old, but the picture is up to date and good.
If you can do without FullHD resolution, you get a beautifully coherent picture that puts any office projector with higher resolution far in the shade.

Have had the projector for about 6 years, had to clean it twice because of dust problems and change the color wheel once, now has 1600 hours with the first lamp, very reliable, good picture, volume is fine, very satisfied with it, use it with a Cinetec screen in a dark room.

Really great projector;
Absolutely BRILLIANT colors.
Sharper than our Samsung HD TV!
I don‘t know what the user has who complains that everything is blurred...Defective device? Divx movie as source?

All the best, perfectly happy
It‘s now the 5th projector in my collection, and by far the best! Contrast and colors are optimal Volume is also great (note the instructions, it gets loud when hung up incorrectly). I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Beamer is great when it works.
After half a year it had the quirk that it simply switches off and can no longer be switched on. Then I sent it in for repair, when it came back repaired everything worked again, but only for 3 weeks. After that, same problem as before.

Super device with a great picture, especially in 1080 i resolution
I‘ve owned the HD 70 for half a year now and am really very satisfied. 2 weeks ago I borrowed a Playstation 3 from the video store and watched several HD movies with the projector. The difference to DVD quality was enormous, especially with animated movies. I was a bit worried when I bought it because the projector is not 24 p compatible. However, the image judder is almost invisible, even with slow camera pans. You have to be super small to be bothered by that. I watched Vertical Limit on Blu Ray and the judder was not noticeable to me. The picture quality was absolutely amazing !!!!

Great device with super price/performance ratio
I am very satisfied. Great picture with Bul-Ray and HD-DVD. Good sharpness for HD-Ready. The only annoyance: If you accidentally set an image signal on the PC that is not permitted for the Optoma (e.g. full HD or too high a frequency because the monitor is working at a higher resolution), the Optoma‘s firmware crashes so mercilessly that it can no longer be switched off - you then have to unplug it, which is certainly not good for the lamp. So it may be better to reduce the monitor resolution first and then switch on the Optoma.

cheap plastic
The picture is too blurred, too much noise and too loud! The device doesn‘t look very high quality!!!
Whoever likes it!
Price - performance, picture, volume and appearance, my choice is clearly Mitsubishi e.g.
HC 1100 or HD 1000!

Super device
Optoma currently unbeatable. DVDs and HD-DVDs look great. Very good black level for the price range. The rainbow effect is also kept to a minimum. The scope of delivery even includes a Scart adapter, which is very exemplary. The only point of criticism is the not entirely unproblematic set-up.

Super Sache! I mounted it on the ceiling (2.60m) right in the middle of the screen. It gives me very nice pictures 2m wide via HDMI, exactly where I want them. Anyone who can mount it like this should go for it, otherwise there could be problems. Of course, it could be a little quieter, but when you‘re watching a movie you can‘t hear a thing.

TOP DEVICE AT A TOP PRICE
The Optoma HD70 produces future-proof, sharp, crisp images with very good black levels on the screen. The picture can be further optimized (factory settings are not optimal, as with most projectors). Once this hurdle has been overcome, you will have a LOT of fun with the device, and at a current price of UNDER €1000! The only thing that seems in need of improvement is the awkward positioning, as the Optoma has a relatively steep projection angle, but otherwise I can highly recommend the projector!!!! TOP!

top beamer
Super device in this price range, a bit loud but with an excellent picture.
High contrast, top black level, hardly any rgb.
Top beamer, in my opinion, superior to the Sanyo Z4, Panasonic 900 etc.
