The hardware properties of the XL6500 manufactured by Nec include 6500 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 350:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 1500 hours. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Projection Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 6500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 702 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 468 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. The model is currently no longer actively offered on the market by the manufacturer. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
