Equipped with LCD technology, the Nec VT57 offers 1500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 500:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 3000 hours. A look at the light output reveals: The 1500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 337 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 225 cm. Since entering the market in 2006, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Standard-Portabel | External training and company presentations, as well as product presentations. Small screen width, rooms with very little ambient light below 50 lumens.
I‘ve been using the projector for over a year now, together with a DVB-T receiver with S-Video connection. In my opinion, the picture reproduction is first class. The projector is so quiet that you can hardly hear it (eco mode). The brightness in a dark or darkened room on a woodchip wall is perfectly adequate. The menu setting options are very extensive; it can also be projected onto a colored wall. Keystone correction, back or ceiling projection is possible. One FB included. All functions can also be operated via buttons on the device. Dust filter with notice. The white housing is great, the equipment with bag and cable O.K. 3-year guarantee.
The lamp should last a very long time if used correctly. Contrast range in line with LCD projectors, sufficient for my requirements. Essential: zoom lens.
So far I‘m completely satisfied!
Small restriction: image reproduction via VGA connection is not 100% satisfactory with synchronization, but also works, e.g. when playing a DVD from a laptop. Otherwise perfect as a projector for laptop playback (programs etc.).
All in all: Anyone looking for an inexpensive and quiet alternative should take a closer look at it, just like the other NEC models.
