With the NP50, Nec offers a DLP projector that features 2600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1600:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2000 hours for this projector's lamp. Looking at practical performance, up to 444 cm can be illuminated with 2600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 296 cm. This model dates back to 2007 and is no longer part of Nec's current product range.

I have been using the projector for about a year. The brightness and color reproduction are first class.
However, there is a half point deduction for the usual DLP effects, as you can only see them if you know what you‘re looking for.
Other than that, it‘s an excellent device.

Compact, bright and brilliant
We‘ve tried a few other projectors for mobile use here (EPSON, Sharp), but the NEC is probably the most impressive. The picture is brilliant and of a brightness that you wouldn‘t expect from such a compact device. As things often have to be done quickly on the move, the automatic functions and autofocus are great. Simply set it down and the projector adjusts itself. Incidentally, the device also processes FullHD signals (e.g. from BlueRay) without any problems and is therefore also suitable for private cinema enjoyment ;-)
