Behind the name PX800X is a Laser-BrilliantColor-DLP projector by Nec, whose main features include 8000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2100:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Lens Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 8000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 779 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 519 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. This model dates back to 2011 and is no longer part of Nec's current product range.
