Behind the name PowerLite Pro Z9870UNL is a LCD projector by Epson USA, whose main features include 8700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 15000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2400 hours before a replacement is necessary. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Projection Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 8700 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 948 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 632 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. The projector was released in 2014 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
