As a projector, the Digital Projection Lightning 38 WUXGA 3D combines DLP technology with a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080, and is additionally specified with 20000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2000:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 500 hours. In terms of image alignment, the model offers an optical lens shift function, allowing the image to be shifted on the projection surface without any loss of quality. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Projector Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 20000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1437 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 958 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2009, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
