Categorized in the Homecinema segment, the W1000 projector from Benq projects with a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution, alongside 2000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 3000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. A look at the light output reveals: The 2000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 303 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. The projector was released in 2009 and is officially no longer distributed by Benq. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

I bought the Benq W1000 about 3 months ago and am very satisfied.
Since a detailed explanation would probably be too long (there are also test reports for that), I‘ll just write down the pros here - I can‘t think of any cons at the moment. I am also absolutely satisfied with the device!
Pro:
- Simple design
- High resolution
- With the right settings --> very sharp picture
- Low costs for replacement bulbs
- Simple operation
- Low basic price
- Completely sufficient contrast

Rainbow effect
Hello,
this is my first projector. Freshly unpacked today and unfortunately I‘m going to pack it up again straight away.
The rainbow effect is killing me. It occurs with me, but also with my wife, especially in movies with action sequences and with strong contrast lines (black / white) when you move your eyes back and forth.

Not assessable because the projector only projects the image onto the ceiling
I almost had the pleasure of testing the Benq W1000 while my Mitsubishi hc 5500 was ordered by the dealer and I was waiting for delivery. Unfortunately, I was "almost" unable to see anything. The projector can only be used upside down in addition to table use under the ceiling. However, I placed my projector on a 1 cm thick glass plate under the ceiling, like on a table, because of the better optics. The image was only projected onto the ceiling and there is no way to adjust the projection. Therefore, for me, the device was inadequate. The fan wasn‘t exactly quiet either, but it‘s a shame that I couldn‘t test it further.
