With the MP611, Benq offers a DLP projector that features 2400 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600. According to Benq, the lamp has a durability of 3000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 427 cm can be illuminated with 2400 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 285 cm. With a value of only 28 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. Since entering the market in 2006, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Scart offers various options for transmitting color information. RGB YUV Fbas and S-Video. As far as I know, the sticking point is that the devices that output the signal must be able to change the pin assignments of their socket for the respective type of transmission. In addition to the RGB signal, Fbas is usually also switched. Some devices also output S-Video or a YUV signal after activation in the menu. RGB in home devices which is output via Scart is not compatible with what is used in the computer area.
In the MP611, the VGA socket is intended for connection to the computer, a YUV signal can also be fed in using an adapter 3xCinch to VGA which works perfectly. For RGB applications that work with PAL, S-Video is the alternative. If your device outputs S-Video via Scart, it also works with an adapter
By the way, the Benq cannot do anything with the YUV signal from a graphics card, only from a home DVD player, satellite receiver, etc. Because these are also different standards. Because these are also different standards. I tried it myself, my MP611 is still running perfectly after 3 years with 2600h operation with the first lamp.

Super Beamer with 2400 ansi
The MP611 is in my eyes a real classic at a super price it also supports YUV or RGB VGA via adapter
Question to you all has someone connected an adapter from Scart plug to VGA Sub D 15Pol to feed the RGB picture signal from the Sat Reciver into Beamer ? Is this possible with the MP 611

I‘m thrilled
After the lamp in my LG RD JS31 burst, I had to get a new one. I wanted to put up with it for the time being, but somehow beaming is addictive. So I had to find a technically better but still inexpensive solution. When I switched on the Benq for the first time, I thought I was going to be struck. A super bright and sharp picture, which I didn‘t even have with my previous projector. Now the projector is 200 hours old again and I still love watching it.
What I liked best was the difference in picture in Gran Turismo 4. I have never regretted buying it.

D-Sub to YUV Adapter
Have the projector running via the above adapter now, works great. However, it only worked when I disconnected the device from the mains after cabling, only then was the signal at the VGA socket also recognized, if the device remained connected to the mains (regardless of whether it was switched on or off) and you plug the cables around, the projector finds no signal via D-Sub after switching on. The device must be unplugged when connecting. Strange, but it‘s worth connecting via D-Sub for the picture quality. Adapter is available on Ebay.
PS: Remote control is very small, but all functions can be carried out with it, range is OK. Just hold it up to the screen.

Prima device in the entry-level class
As a previous speaker already wrote, no rainbow effect. DVD display without defects, but a TV picture is displayed with small rasters, but this is strongly dependent on the respective signal strength of the transmitter (my receiver is a digital satellite receiver)
For home theater, the menu setting Cinema is optimal and saves a lot of experimentation.
In this mode, set all bars to middle, color temperature to T1.
I have not yet found a suitable D-Sub to YUV adapter, I will get the pin assignment for D-Sub from the net and make one myself.
All in all a good device, quiet, light output in Eco mode more than sufficient, nice design. Recommendation!

There‘s nothing better for the money!
I had already ordered the Toshiba TDP-S35 when I discovered that the BenQ MP611 is significantly quieter and even brighter. So I canceled the Toshiba and bought this one, and I‘m very glad I did. The MP611 has great picture quality and is really super quiet. Highly recommended for anyone who is happy with 800x600 pixels (and for DVDs that‘s more than enough)! Great value for money!

Benq 611
Super beamer extremely quiet, I would still be interested in how I can manage with the vga cable, I already have more than enough cables and adapters (vga to rgb chinch then to scart rgb adaptersauteuer) and nothing wants to go through, can only connect via video.
Otherwise 1a no rainbow effect for 600 euros super.

Perfect beamer!!!
I can recommend this beamer for aal who would use it for Home Cinema.
No rainbow effect, and a lot of light because of the 2400 lumen.
Easy to set-up, and user friendly.
