Model Overview The equipment of the Epson EH TW5900 projector includes 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 20000:1 with a HDTV 1920 x 1080 display. According to Epson, the lamp has a durability of 4000 hours, achieving a lifespan of 5.5 years when used for 2 hours a day.
Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle.
A look at the light output reveals: The 2000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 303 cm.
In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance.
This model dates back to 2011 and is no longer part of Epson's current product range. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

2 Stars Flickering
Have the same flickering problem! Dirt!
At first it was only in ECO mode and now also in normal mode. 2400 down. But the flickering started at 800 hours! Sent in, but supposedly everything is fine..... exactly!

1 Star Disaster
After 3000h of use: Absolute disaster.
To reinforce my point: The same projector of a friend shows EXACTLY the same errors.
The projector image flickers (regardless of the lamp, whether new or old) with changing frequency (1-10x per second) very clearly. The whole room is illuminated flickeringly. Just like a campfire. It is unbelievable that Epson support repeatedly refuses requests for goodwill and replies with standard answers such as "Does the error occur with every source?" In addition, the projector has been exhibiting strong color shifts for some time. There is a red or blue haze at the top or bottom of the picture. I suspect that a lens, a mirror or something similar has come loose from its mount
All in all a massive disappointment. I generally advise against Epson, as such reports are piling up after a quick search on the Internet and among friends.

first impression, huge thing, makes a good impression at first. When it does its job, disillusionment sets in. The picture is jerky, I can clearly make out ghosting, the iris is creaky and loud, the lack of lens shift is the least of it. Why don‘t the Epson developers make an intermediate image calculation, a better iris and work a little on the ghosting? Don‘t they test the devices? Well, I‘ll give it back and wait for the next IFA. I think they‘ll come up with something real then, as they‘ve already been extensively tested on customers.

5 Stars SUPER BEAMER!

I looked at the Epson at the dealer and bought it. It makes a really fast impression, but so does the HD33. What is strange (previous review). The dealer also drew my attention to the HD33 and even recommended it to me. I did some research and found that it didn‘t have any bad reviews or ratings, on the contrary! I thought the HD33‘s picture was slightly better than the Epson, but it‘s also much more expensive (Epson 1099 and HD33 1399, both without glasses) The HD33 was simply too expensive for an entry-level projector compared to the Epson. I‘m very happy with my Epson. Of course it lacks the intermediate image calculation and the associated slight jerking and ghosting, but at 300 euros less that‘s easy to get over. Epson TOP and fully recommendable! One more question for the previous reviewer: What other projectors should the Epson 5900 or 6000 be compared with...are there any other 3D Full HD projectors worth recommending in this price range? All comparable projectors cost over 1000 euros more. Epson EH TW5900/6000 and Optoma HD300/33...I couldn‘t find any other comparable projectors in this price range!!! Strange, isn‘t it?

5 Stars purchased HD33 model
I find it very strange that the two reviews, which are not so great here, both recommend the same alternative (the HD33), which is rated significantly worse by the experts. Are these perhaps paid reviews?

3 Stars is nothing true
had the 6000, which is not listed here (only the W), but is actually pretty much identical to the 5900. It‘s a jerky box, the picture twitches during fast movements, I also had the impression it was a bit streaky. The 2D picture was otherwise ok, but with the juddering, that‘s not possible. I noticed slight ghosting in the 3D, but the picture is vivid and good, although there was some jerking again. I switched to the Optoma HD33, the picture in 2D is exactly the same as the Epson picture, but without jerking and streaking thanks to Pure (intermediate image). The 3D picture is much better, not only can you see absolutely no ghosting, it is more vivid, also jerk-free, somehow looks crisper and more brilliant. My fears about the RBE were unfounded, with Acer projectors it was always visible to me, with the Optoma I can‘t see anything at all. In my opinion, the Epson can‘t even come close to the Optoma.

5 Stars Super part
Hi, I‘m a "projector beginner" and am totally thrilled with this little thing :)) The picture is amazing in both 2D and 3D, it can easily keep up with a Samsung 55 Plama. The settings were totally simple and sufficient for me (I have it hanging on the wall at a slight angle to the screen). There could be a few more connections (1-2 HDMI and 1 DVI).
All in all, I‘m very satisfied. The 0.5 deduction is because of the connections and because it is sold as a 3D projector WITHOUT glasses.

5 Stars to Stefan
Hello Stefan I completely agree with you ... The projector absolutely deserves 5 stars. I use it in the living room and it sometimes runs for over 12 hours. no problem for the device... previously had an Acer h5360bd for 650 €, before that Benq w600+ that was finished after 2000h and beamer too :-) these are no comparisons to the Epson 5900. my purchase recommendation goes to Epson 5900 for this quality of picture it is for me the price performance winner.... and for the tw6000 350€ more to pay I see no reason 200lumen more is also no reason. Because the tw5900 also delivers a picture worth seeing in my 65 square meter living room, even in daylight. Thank you and have fun my movie friends :-)

5 Stars Class
I have also read everything that has been written about the Epson on the Internet so far. There are certainly devices that have a better black level in 2D mode. I have solved this for myself with a gamma correction by lowering the depth range by 2-3 ticks. Black in the picture now seems perfect to me: This is what I was most afraid of; however, I definitely don‘t see any judder at all. I suspect that this depends on the feed and anyone who is affected by this should check their settings on the player. The picture is super bright, absolutely sufficient for 3D even in the lowest brightness mode. Ghosting is virtually non-existent; however, I avoid the highest brightness level in 3D. The writer before me seems to have ignored this. The picture is also absolutely flicker-free; even after 2 hours with the glasses on you don‘t feel like you‘re straining your eyes.
Conclusion: great 2D picture, outstanding 3D picture, great price, great look (white)

3 Stars Geht so
The beamer makes a good impression at first. The 2D picture is very bright, the colors are nice and at first everything seems perfect. After a while you see it and you see it and you see it. The picture is jerky in places, like an Internet movie. I have to say that‘s really annoying. In 3D I was also able to recognize ghosting. That‘s not at all possible. You can say what you like, but if you don‘t notice it, you‘re really just talking up your projector. This iris or whatever it is, loud and clearly audible. This thing is no comparison to the Optoma HD33, the Optoma is far superior in size and appearance alone, not to mention the picture. The Epson is certainly not a bad entry-level projector, but I had the choice between a jerky and ghosting picture or a crisp, smooth picture with a slight RBE. I opted for the Optoma and returned the Epson. After a few hours of use, the slight RBE was also gone and now I think I made the right decision.

The projector is also very good in 3D I compared it with current televisions and was surprised that the projector can easily keep up.... The picture is super bright 2D and 3D. I wonder why the eh-tw6000 costs 400€ more? Only because of 0,74" panel? Thank you
