As a projector, the Barco I65-4K13 combines DLP technology with a resolution of WUXGA 1920 x 1200, and is additionally specified with 15625 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 1600:1. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours – calculating to 13.7 years at four hours of use per day. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Lens Calculator. Because the manufacturer specifies brightness in ISO lumen values, we have determined an ANSI lumen value for better comparability. Looking at practical performance, up to 1270 cm can be illuminated with 15625 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 847 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance.
