Categorized in the Homecinema segment, the SP A400B projector from Samsung projects with a WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution, alongside 2000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2500:1. According to Samsung, the included lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 2000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 454 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 303 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. The projector was released in 2007 and is officially no longer distributed by Samsung.

The device has now been in use for 15 years (!!) and thats a lot. We set the lamp power to half strength from the outset, as it is absolutely sufficient at a distance of 2.50m from the screen. (At the time, we bought it for €400 as a residual item.... I think its worth buying and installing a replacement lamp and cleaning in the near future.) Brilliant!!!

atmospheric presentation
tasteful, technically very well thought-out design with whisper fan cooling that only becomes noticeable when you listen twice. The image display is simply extremely brilliant for a WXGA projector, although the pixel texture is only really visible when viewed up close. A truly fabulous entry-level projector that really whets the appetite for its big brother, the SP600B...

For offer under 600 Euro top projector
Samsung SP-A400B has a disadvantage that it has never been tested and is unknown compared to Mitsubishi HC1500 and ACER HD5360. However, it is better in terms of processing and picture, definitely better than my old Panasonic PT-AE 500. Settings were probably taken over from the test winner SP-A800B and its bigger brother. Unrivaled for 600 euros!
