A projector from TCL is the PlayCube, whose LED-DLP model delivers 938 ANSI lumens, a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080 and a contrast of 1000000:1. The manufacturer specifies a durability of 30000 hours for the LED light source. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 20.5 years. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. To reduce dependence on stationary power sources, the model is equipped with a built-in battery for autonomous operation. To ensure objective comparability, an approximate ANSI lumen value was calculated based on the ISO lumen values. Regarding projection size, the value of 938 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 311 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 207 cm. Additionally, a built-in ambient light sensor measures the room lighting and automatically adjusts the projection settings. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K. Equipped with Google TV, the device provides direct access to a broad spectrum of streaming services. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Thanks to support for Miracast, Airplay and Chromecast, screen content can also be cast wirelessly from a smartphone, tablet, or PC to the screen. With a value of only 26 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background.
