Behind the name Theater Ultra is a 3D-Laser-DLP projector by Formovie, whose main features include 2016 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 3000:1 and a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours – calculating to 13.7 years at four hours of use per day. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 46 cm. To make performance data comparable based on the ISO lumen values, we calculated an approximate ANSI lumen value. A look at the light output reveals: The 2016 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 456 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 304 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. Additionally, thanks to Google TV, the model is network-capable and can be used without external playback devices. The integrated Google Assistant ensures comfortable operation, allowing the projector to be controlled via voice commands. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket.
