Hello |
| |
I bought the projector on Ebay and have to say that the colossus really delivers a great picture quality for a device that is over 30 years old.
The only thing I find nerdy is the setting.
The convergence is still quite easy if you have some experience but the picture size is really a big challenge. However, you will be rewarded for your efforts as even my NEC VT 440 doesn‘t achieve such a black level. I have also found a place to get spare parts. I have a radio and television technician nearby who has only worked on CRTs in his time and therefore still has spare parts.
My conclusion is: It didn‘t cost much but convinced me by the picture quality and the relatively low power consumption because my NEC is not exactly economical in comparison with over 300W and every 1000h a bulb of 270Euro is also too much. The technology in the Grundig is robust and easy to repair if you are a little fit with the technology, it is not yet littered with µC and SMD but everything is quite easy to repair with parts that are still available now.

Grundig projector |

I had this projector, and I have to say that the picture quality (color, black level) surpasses even newer LCD projectors.
Unfortunately, you can only get the picture to 2 meters or more with professional help.
(I don‘t mean the convergence setting here, but you also have to adjust the components
something) In addition, it is very difficult to get a service for the device
because it is from the 70s and Grundig has not sold spare parts for it for a long time.
