Black dots |

Have had this projector for 4 years. At first I was positively surprised by the picture quality. However, NEC has a huge problem with almost all DLP projectors, including mine. After a certain number of operating hours (only 60 in my case), the DLP chips slowly but surely fail. Suddenly you can see small black and white dots on the screen which accumulate over time. Unfortunately, this is a well-known NEC problem due to cheap built-in DLP chips. These things used to last a lifetime. But unfortunately times are changing.

Absolutely usable |

Have also owned the device for around 3 years. No problem. I agree with author Peter in every respect, no rainbow effect. The only thing I miss is an HDMI connection. But you can manage quite well without it. A good device for the price with a good light output (2000 Ansi) and not to be compared with the cheap stuff from the cheap-is-awesome corner even if it says LED on it.

Not bad at all ! |
|
I have owned this device for 3 years. So far, however, I have not noticed any of the "rainbow effect" described. I think the "price-performance ratio is actually quite good and the service life of the lamp is also quite long. Of course, if you search, you will always find a device that is "even better" than your own. But for my needs it was a good deal.

Rainbow effect |
|
Have tested the Nec NP100 projector. At first, after switching it on, I was impressed by the good contrast ratio compared to my two old LCD projectors. Unfortunately, during the first movie, my wife and I noticed that the projector produced an extreme rainbow effect. During fast scenes, when the eye follows the action, all you can see are large green and purple flashes of light. We tested the settings in vain and then dismantled the projector and returned it.
